These miniature portraits are painted on pine boards and triple-coated with varnish as they are intended to be hung on the door of the box that the horse stands in, a very tough environment! I have lost count of the number of signs I have painted over the years, but it must be over fifty by now. Originally I painted them with acrylics but now use oil paints; with Liquin as a medium they dry quickly.
